Leaves, Leaves, Go Away...

I thought by having a front yard that is like 2x5, that I would avoid the whole leaf raking ordeal. (As much as I enjoyed raking all those years while still living at home, Dad blasting John Denver's four disc set) Apparently not! The interesting thing is that we really don't have any trees by our house, there is one allll the way at the end of the street. Unfortunately, the wind blows what seems like all of the leaves to our little patch of lawn, and takes over my shrubs and walkway as well. I have already gone out and raked it twice now, and am about ready to go chop down the tree myself.... I have included a couple pictures of the pile I most recently raked. I won't even look out our back door...that can wait for spring!!

You think you have leaves... try living in the woods! Then try having a 2 year-old jump in every pile you make, spreading them back out again. Good times!

Yea, you think you got leaves, we have got lots of leaves. Uncle Gary has been burning leaves. He worked on leaves from Quater of Four until about six o' clock last night. I helped a while until I went in to get supper ready. Don't complain I would love to have just a few leaves.
I love the fall colors and they have been beautiful this year. Love,

WOW! That is a lot for you yard. I would have thought that you wouldn't have any being the middle house. The leaves here don't really tend to fall until Jan or Feb. I am hoping that if I keep mowing my lawn that I won't have to rake them up ;)

Hi Amanda,

I LOVE your new background color. I can read your blog much better with the blue type on black.

We have thousands of leaves on our lawn, too and the squirrels have so much fun chasing each other through them. I love to watch squirrels. They are so acrobatic;they look like ballet dancers as they leap from tree branch to tree branch.

When my kids were little they couldn't wait for Fall so they could play in the leaves and we loved to watch their antics. They are all grown up now so I have to watch squirrels.

That's kind of sad, isn't it?
